About my collections

In the halcyon days of the nineties I collected CDs indiscriminately, but space issues (not to mention a lack of unlimited funds) finally put the brakes on that. Now, I try to deepen my collection in several genres that particularly appeal to me, primarily psychedelic (both American and English), but also shoegazer, older country, 50s and 60s jazz, punk and postpunk, and 80s college rock.

I've encountered space issues with DVDs as well, but because I started on DVDs a little later than on CDs, I've been more selective. Genres I concentrate on include silent, westerns, film noir, thrillers, documentaries, and all kinds of smaller films that catch my eye.

Since I'm a Ph.D. candidate in literature, I obviously have an addiction to books. The less said about the boxes and boxes of books I own, the better. Don't make me think about the nightmare of moving...
